Inside Business With Adam Milstein, Ideamensch’s Story

Adam Milstein is a man not limited by lack of resources or fazed by setbacks. He’s worked hard alongside David Hager to establish Hager Pacific Properties, a commercial real estate broker company based in Los Angeles that owns many commercial and residential properties in Illinois, Texas and California.

Milstein is also the founder and president of the Israeli-American Council (IAC), a foundation that reaches out to Jewish Americans and other groups to bring them together in support of Israel and other common causes. He’s spoken on many issues from combating anti-Semitism to Israel’s border security and he’s earned recognition as one of the world’s most influential Jews according to the Jerusalem Post. He talked about how he came to lead Hager Pacific Properties with Ideamensch.

According to what he told Ideamensch, he had first tried to start a business selling works of art to the temples in Israel but made the mistake of overinvesting in this business a little too early. It shaped his ideas later of being patient while investing and accruing income, the tasks he’s currently responsible for at Hager Pacific Properties.

He wasn’t happy with simply choosing a career that all the other graduate students were entering while he was completing his master’s, and since he liked the challenge that real estate offered he became a commercial property broker and soon cofounded the company. But also Milstein mentioned that always being involved in philanthropy has helped him find even more meaning to his work, and he and his wife Gila have promoted Hebrew courses through Sifriyat Pijama B’America.

Adam Milstein married Gila not long after returning home from duty in the Yom Kippur War of 1973. He had followed the footsteps of his father who also was a veteran of the 1948 war of independence for Israel, and Adam grew up in Israel the oldest of three brothers. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Technion, Israeli Institute of Technology and later completed his master’s at USC. In addition to the IAC, the Milsteins also support and are involved with StandWithUs, Jerusalem U, Hasbara Fellowships, Hillel and its US branches and Birthright Israel.
